Summary of the charity fundraiser for face reconstruction for Superhumans Center patients
The second wave of the "Face of Humanity" charity fundraiser by PrivatBank and Mastercard, which lasted from April 2025, raised over 8 million UAH to help Ukrainians who suffered face injuries due to the war and require reconstructive and plastic surgery. Thanks to the funds raised, 18 Superhumans Center patients will receive comprehensive support, including all necessary operations.
"Behind every hryvnia collected is a new life for a person recovering from trauma. Face reconstruction is not just about aesthetics—it's about the ability to speak, smile, and close one's eyes again. It's about finding a new identity and returning to a full life. This project is an example of how a partnership between business and society can change the lives of people who need it most. Thanks to the 'Face of Humanity' project, our patients receive comprehensive treatment and a chance to return to society. We are sincerely grateful to everyone who became a part of this project," says Olha Rudnieva, CEO of the All-Ukrainian Center for War Trauma Superhumans.
The fundraiser was implemented thanks to PrivatBank's practical and reliable charity services, which allowed clients to donate quickly and securely in a convenient way, and with the support of Mastercard, which acted as a project partner.
"PrivatBank is a bank for people where client-centricity, diversity, and accessibility are a priority, and the main goal is to make the lives of Ukrainians better and more comfortable. Our 'Face of Humanity' project has become living proof of these values. We thank everyone who participated in both waves of this important initiative. We sincerely wish the Superhumans Center patients an easy rehabilitation and the fastest possible full recovery," commented Olesia Zhulynska, Head of Public Relations and Communications at PrivatBank.
During the second wave of the fundraiser, clients donated 6.3 million UAH, and an additional over 1.7 million UAH was contributed by PrivatBank and Mastercard as part of the joint charitable action "Generous Tuesday," which tripled donations made with Mastercard cards from PrivatBank.
"Mastercard became one of the first partners of the Superhumans Center, and from the very beginning, we have consistently supported initiatives that help people who have suffered war-related injuries regain lost opportunities. One such initiative was the joint 'Face of Humanity' project, which allowed us not only to raise funds for reconstructive surgery but also to draw attention to the complex topic of recovery after facial injuries by showing real people's stories. We are sincerely grateful to PrivatBank for the reliable partnership and to everyone who joined the fundraiser and helped turn a shared idea into real support," notes Nataliia Baidala, Marketing Director of Mastercard in Ukraine and Moldova.
As a reminder, within the first wave of the "Face of Humanity" charity fundraiser, which started in 2024, more than 8.5 million UAH was raised thanks to PrivatBank clients, the bank's own contributions, and the doubling of donations made with Mastercard cards. The funds collected were directed to support 19 Superhumans Center patients who received assistance with comprehensive reconstructive surgery and rehabilitation.
Thus, the total amount of aid to the Superhumans patients during the two waves of the "Face of Humanity" project reached 16.5 million UAH.
