33 for the Yatagan Drone School

A training school for drone pilots will be soon established in Ukraine. Come Back Alive Foundation dedicated to providing competent assistance to the Ukrainian military joined the creation of the “Yatagan” Unmanned Aerial Systems Training School in the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and, together with PrivatBank, announced a charity fundraiser for its needs. UAH 33 million are required to start the full operation of the school.

“Yatagan” is a school in the structure of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which is formed on the basis of one of their training centers. Defenders will go through professional training and get the military specialty of a remote pilot (operator) of unmanned aerial vehicles. The school will train about a hundred specialists every month, and three times more by the end of the year.

The funds raised will be used to install and equip modular training classrooms, flight routes and practice of combat scenarios, UAV repair workshops, to procure training boards, and etc.

“Our specialists have trained thousands of aerial reconnaissance scouts, including through specially developed online courses. However, it is important for us not just to train people, but to help create appropriate opportunities in the army itself,” - says Viktoria Dvoretska, the Head of the Instruction Department of the Come Back Alive Foundation. – As the Yatagan School is part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, drone operators will get not only skills, but also a profession, a military specialty. Consequently, they will be able to officially hold a relevant position in the unit, effectively apply their skills, undergo advanced training, etc.”

“The Ground Forces are the largest part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. They need to develop and scale up their capabilities in training qualified specialists who will effectively use drones in the combat zone,” says the Head of the Yatagan UAV School, Major Serhii Matviychuk. — We are constantly improving the educational process. The militaries constantly provide us with current information from the front to update the program. With the advent of new complexes we will expand our base, and we are ready for it.”

"Supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine today is part of the life of every Ukrainian and an integral part of the social responsibility of every business," added Olesia Zhulynska, the Head of PR and Communications Division of PrivatBank. — "For us, supporting this initiative to strengthen the Army's effectiveness and capability is a major element of creating sustainable development opportunities for the country.”
