Fundraising for Superhumans - Facial Reconstruction

“Face of humanness”: this is a charity  fundraising which started on March 20. The fundraising has been initiated by PrivatBank and Mastercard that have joined to help patients of the Superhumans Center - the center for prosthetics, reconstructive surgery, rehabilitation and psychological support for children and adults who became the war victims.

The goal of this new project is to provide aid to those Ukrainians who have suffered facial injuries due to the war and need reconstructive plastic surgery; and also to bring attention to the issue and promote the society to openness for understanding and overcoming the socialization barrier of the people with facial injuries. Mastercard will double each donation within the fundraising made with the card of Mastercard.

Due to the intensity and the kind of ongoing hostilities that we have today in Ukraine, people are mostly wounded in the head, neck and face, so these are the most common injuries after the loss of limbs, which makes up about 30% out of all injuries. Thus, every third Ukrainian who became a victim of the war needs reconstructive surgery.

“We have created the best operating rooms where the first-rate modern equipment has been installed. We have involved leading reconstructive surgery experts from Ukraine and the entire world to help people in regaining their identity and recovering their mutilated body parts. We have created a platform for the best to work at, and along with Mastercard and PrivatBank we are giving the opportunity to all willing, to join and support people who have suffered due to the war. The raised funds will allow people not only to regain their lost look, but also help our doctors and surgeons to learn how to make extremely complex surgeries in the field of reconstruction”, - says Olha Rudneva, the CEO of the Superhumans Center.

For PrivatBank, it is already the second large-scale fundraising for Superhumans. In 2023, over UAH 50 mn were raised for prosthesis and rehabilitation of the Superhumans patients, 20 mn of which were transferred by PrivatBank from its own funds.
